Black lacquer and papier-mache chessboard pedestal table on a tripod base. The top inlay of abalone and malachite pieces make the chessboard design. Beautiful Dutch design with scalloped edge that is shown in gilt on the table top and repeated in the wood of the apron and the round base. Circa 1870.
