ELEPHANT HUMIDOR
Majolica elephant tobacco humidor. At the end of the 19th century the Victorian smokers turned from using snuff to smoking pipes. Humorous figural tobacco jars became popular. These small animal tobacco jars were even given out as promotional gifts at country fairs. Most were produced in small potteries in the Bohemia area of Austria and Germany and were not marked.
